Bet Type Guide
Different bet types suit different situations. Straight accumulators (double, treble, 4-fold upwards) require all selections to win. System bets like the Trixie, Yankee and Lucky 15 include multiple combinations from your selections, meaning you can still return a profit if one selection loses.
System Bets Explained
A Trixie covers three selections across three doubles and one treble (4 bets total). A Yankee covers four selections with six doubles, four trebles and one 4-fold (11 bets). A Lucky 15 is a Yankee plus four singles (15 bets), and is the most popular each-way system bet for horse racing.
A Lucky 31 covers five selections with 31 bets (singles, doubles, trebles, 4-folds and a 5-fold). A Lucky 63 covers six selections with 63 bets. The Heinz covers six selections in 57 bets (no singles).
Which to Choose
For maximum return when confident in all selections: go with a straight accumulator. For partial insurance when one or two might fail: choose a system bet like Yankee or Lucky 15. The trade-off is that system bets cost more to place (multiply the stake by the number of bets). See the betting glossary for definitions of every bet type mentioned here.
